This wooden carton opener is composed of a simple straight piece of wood with a tapered end. This artifact was made in the Hiram Walker maintenance shop. It was used in the opening of sealed cases for inspection. The tool would be slipped under the sealed cardboard flaps, lifted up, and the box opened. The cardboard box could be resealed because the container had not been torn.
