City laid out and Streets named by William S. Hamilton, son of Alexander Hamilton. Began in 1826 with the original Town. He surveyed the town 16 blocks, received $58.75 for his work. Included from Fayette along the river to Liberty St. to Madison St. and back to Fayette St.
