Correspondence – Letter November 18, 1895, Maria Nichols, Tarrytown, New York, to Blanchard Pettengill, Worcester, Massachusetts.

Maria is obliged to Blanchard for the account of his visit to Middlebury, Vermont, her home town. She asks if he noticed the view of the mountains on return from the cemetery, she rejoices that their dead sleep in that lovely spot. Her family is enjoying the shredded wheat daily. Her grocer first objected to selling it but now has a supply piled on his counter and is nearly gone. She continues to promote the product. His Aunt Catharine spoke with great pleasure of his visit with her and is enjoying the biscuits and coffee.
