A pamphlet produced by the Larkin Soap Co. called, The Larkin Idea. Larkin was a company that started out (in 1875) by producing soaps for washing clothes and toilets and later added other home products as well as food. Women formed Larkin clubs where they would contribute money and order Larkin products on an installment plan. The pamphlet includes product advertisements, articles about Larkin Club Secretaries, articles on Larkin Club contest winners, information on Larkin neighborhood pantries, new Larkin products, and prices for Larkin products. The front of the Larkin Idea is a colored illustration of factory work and then in front of that is a magazine with a woman using Larkin products that says, “The Larkin Plan Factory to Family.” The inside of the pamphlet is in black and white and includes text, illustrations, and photographs.
