A pamphlet known as “The Contractors Searchlight.” The booklet was published in Peoria by Allen Lumber Co. The booklet was distributed by C. E. Erickson Company Inc located in Des Moines, Iowa. C E. Erickson was a company that specialized in advertising products. Thee booklet contains “estimate record forms, time book, itemized lists of lumber and hardware, estimating material, excavation table, nail table, bridging table, capacity of cisterns, area of gables, dimensions of furniture, rafter pitches, rafter tables, table of weights, measures and capacities, etc.” The list of the contents of the booklet was taken from the first page of the booklet. The booklet was written by M. M. Ferguson in 1901 and revised in 1911 and 1923.
