Bit has a flat nose with one half bent upward to form cutter, other half prolonged downward on outside edge to form nicker or spur cutter. Nicker describes circle around the lead; cutter pares away the surface inside the circle. Used for wide, shallow holes from 0.25 to 3.5 inches in diameter.
