Bit has a flat nose with one half bent upward to form cutter, other half prolonged downward on outside edge to form nicker and spur cutter. Nicker describes a circle around lead; cutter pares away the surface inside circle. Used for wide, shallow holes 0.25 to 3.5 inches in diameter.
