Bit has a flat nose with one half bent upward to form cutter, other half prolonged downward on outside edge to form nicker spur cutter. Nicker describes circle around lead; cutter pares away surface inside circle. Used for wide, shallow holes from 0.25 to 3.5 inches in diameter.
