Round .800 silver hinged covered box by M. Buccellati of Milan and Rome, ca. 1935. Has vermeil applied baroque sunburst centered on lid, set with 30mm round lapis lazuli cabachon, surface is finished with a matte texture for which Buccellati is known, interior bowl and lid are smooth – stored with British sterling silver tea and coffee service marked Crichton Bros., New York and London in oak chest.
