This is a chocolate box from the Famous Gunther’s Candies. It says that the box head “New Italian Chocolate Creams. The box is in good shape other than some worn edges and smudges. This box was most likely purchases in the 1910s.

Gunter’s Candies was open in 1868 by Charles F. Gunther. He was a candy-maker and collector of historical artifacts. His collection can be seen at the Chicago Historical Society. He passes away in 1920. His candy factory died with him.
