Black. 2 box pleats in back over collar of lace, piped with velvet ribbion. Bow in front. Lined with polish cotton. Jacquard weave (outer fabric). This cape, with the lovely pleating in back, belonged to Mathilda M. Risacher, who was born in Gelswiller, Alsace, France in 1862. She passed away in 1947. It was worn by her as a bride when she married August Arnold of Dusseldorf, Germany abot 1890. She was about 27 years old at the time of her marriage.
