This Late Empire/Early Victorian-style parlor or dining room chair has an open back composed of an elongated U shape which flares upward from the seat. The top rail us arched, and it is carved with a leaf and flower motif. The uprights are separated by a horizontal splat which also has a cared motif. The front edge of the seat is rounded, and the seat itself has been reupholstered. The front legs are reverse ogee curves without feet. The rear legs are canted in a saber-curve. Stretchers separate the legs.

The chair was refinished in 1963 by G. Brickner. The chair was discovered in the attic of Flanagan House in 1963. It had been destroyed from use, and the pieces were tossed under the eaves. This chair may have been owned and used by John Flanagan.
