This chair is called a “Firehouse Windsor” and is a Victorian revival of the Philadelphia Windsor or 1725-1760. The chair is composed of a heave horseshoe shaped continuous arm with low cresting and ends which curve. Chair has a deep U shaped seat which is slightly saddled. It also has a serpentine front. The legs have moderate splay with the front ones ring turned and tapering, the rear ones plain and canted. Legs are braced by stretchers of turned members with front ones ring turned.
