chair has a cane seat, open back, and slightly concave top-rail about 3 inches wide. Top edge is mortised into a supporting cyma curved upright as is the splat placed halfway between the top rail and seat. Seat is rectangular and flaring with a lightly curved front(caned seat). Front legs are tapering and cylindrical; knob and ring turned with button feet; rear legs are plain and canted. Plain turned stretcher. Used as a simple parlor, dining room, or bedroom chair. Wood: maple some yellow birch. Came from the Peoria Women’s Club building.
