One small glass inkwell. This inkwell was made of blown gass and was known as the “common sense” inkwell. It was designed to be difficult to knock over and catch the ink if it was. The inkwell is designed to allow access for a pen through the hole in the top of the glass and limit the possibility of spillage. The top is designed as an inverted cone with a hole in the center. The top is designed so if the well was tipped the ink would run into the area between the edge of the well and the inverted cone.
