Early parlor table Kaleidoscope with round base. Some of these early parlor Kaleidoscopes were manufactured by Charles G. Bush, Providence, Rhode Island. Circa 1873. Size: 13.5 inches height x 10 inches length x 6 inches base diameter. Charles Bush is credited with the design for the first parlor kaleidoscope in America and was granted two patents in 1873 and 1874. He manufactured these instruments in Providence, RI and Claremont, NH.
