ON ACTIVE SERVICE

AMERICAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE

Feb 10 1919

Dear Folks;-
I will drop you a
few lines to day as I have a
few spare moments. The weather
is considerable colder at presant
than it has been. Well Frank
probably will be home before this
letter reaches you for his reg.
left the third of this month. I
started ti write this letter three
times and have torn it up every
time. There is nothing to write
and it is awful dicusting
to even try when one has to
write the same thing over and
over some times I think I
shall not write anymore at
all. Well here is hopeing that
I wont have to write many
more. I wouldnt even attempt”

home I will have made so many
guesses now and have failed
that I am through. Oyes
I have a card that I am
supposed to send home so will
put it in here. They have some
awful maines of villiage around
here. They are Pauillac Pollalley
and Fromploop. I guess I
will have to close for this
