Plane, European Smoothing Plane (with horn). Form of smoothing plane (coffin shape) upper edge is rounded. Equivalent to smoothing and jack planes, with a parallel stock, rounded at the heel, with a horn-shaped fron handle. Common on the continent since the 16th century. Used for finishing.
