G. Peirce, Canaan, N.H.”

Mrs. G. Peirceis believed to be Mable May Bennett Peirce (1885-1969) wife of George Herbert Peirce (1884-1945), son of George Herbert Peirce. Mable and George lived in Grafton, New Hampshire. The city in New Hampshire could be Canaan, a town near Grafton.

Bryon G. Harrington (1873-1946) was the president of the Syracuse Portrait Co., Inc. Convex oval portraits were the rage in photo-portraiture for the time period 1880-1920. The process of producing a very weak image and then adding some charcoal “art” as enhancement was the great selling point.
