Cuspidor has scenes decorated so beautifully with green trees and the actual landscape in Staffordshire picturing the famous pottery works at Cauldron.

The pottery built at Hanley, Staffordshire, England in 1794 by Job. Ridgway, the father of Ridgway brothers, produced much beautiful table service and toilet sets as well, and a quantity was sent to America. After the death in 1814 of Job. Ridgway, the firm became J. & W. Ridgway, and it is through the work of these sons that we become most familiar witht the output of these potteries. Page 43, from 1814 to 1830 the brothers Ridgway worked together, but at the latter date they separated, John the elder carrying on the work at Cauldron Place, built by his father in 1802.
