
10.5″x12.25″ outdoors. This is a photograph taken from a high vantage point of a parade that came down Jefferson St. in Peoria. This scene includes the 100 and 200 block of Jefferson St. The Niagara Tap Room on the upper right side of the street was located at 118 Jefferson and Coney Island on the lower left was located at 219 S Jefferson St. There is no record of what the parade was for but there are many flags hanging from the street poles that say “Welcome Buddy”. The photograph was taken in 1939 based off of the two films on the marquee of the Rialto theater on the left side of the photograph. It shows many of the businesses that were located on Jefferson St. in 1939. There is also the numeral 1 in a circle printed on top of the photograph in the lower left corner.
